CMF Watch 3 Pro Review (2026): Best Smartwatch Under ₹8,000 in India?

Reviewed by: Abhijeet Desai | @TechUnboxing007 (1M+ subscribers) | Tested during launch week | Published: May 2026

    🟢 TL;DR — CMF Watch 3 Pro

✅ Best for: Fitness enthusiasts, students, everyday smartwatch users
                    wanting premium features under ₹8,000
❌ Skip if: You need NFC payments, a large rectangular display,
                    or advanced ECG monitoring
    📊 Our score: 8.6/10
    💰 Price: ₹6,999 (launch offer) | ₹7,999 (regular) — Flipkart
🔋 Battery: 13 days claimed — real-world testing in progress
📍 GPS: Dual-band L1+L5 — fastest lock time in this price segment
🤖 AI: ChatGPT integration via Nothing X app — functional and useful
⚡ Verdict: As of May 2026, the CMF Watch 3 Pro is the best
smartwatch under ₹8,000 in India — no other watch at
this price offers dual-band GPS, ChatGPT, AMOLED and
                    13-day battery simultaneously.

Quick Verdict: The CMF Watch 3 Pro, tested at launch in May 2026, is the most feature-complete smartwatch under ₹8,000 in India right now. Dual-band GPS with L1+L5 support, ChatGPT integration, a 670-nit AMOLED display, 131 sports modes and a claimed 13-day battery — at ₹6,999 during the launch offer — is a combination that no direct competitor at this price comes close to matching. The absence of NFC is the only meaningful gap for urban commuters. For fitness users, students and everyday smartwatch buyers, this is an easy recommendation.

What This Review Is Based On

We tested the CMF Watch 3 Pro during launch week — unboxing, build inspection, display quality assessment, GPS lock time test, health tracking accuracy check, ChatGPT integration walkthrough, gesture control testing and battery monitoring. Battery drain results will be updated in the full long-term review after 13 days of continuous testing.

    Design and Build Quality

The CMF Watch 3 Pro features a precision-milled metal body paired with soft-touch silicone straps, and in person it genuinely does not feel like a sub-₹8,000 product. The circular form factor with ultra-thin bezels gives it a premium watch aesthetic that rectangular budget smartwatches simply cannot match.

At 51 grams, it sits comfortably on the wrist for all-day wear including sleep tracking — not so light it feels cheap, not heavy enough to become noticeable. The rotating crown is functional — it scrolls through menus smoothly and adds a tactile premium feel that most budget smartwatches skip in favour of touch-only navigation.

Unlike the CMF Watch 2 Pro, the Watch 3 Pro does not offer interchangeable display bezels — the bezel style (flat or rounded) depends on the colour variant chosen. This is a step back from the previous generation’s modular approach — worth knowing before selecting your colour.

Available in four colours: Light Green, Dark Grey, Light Grey and Orange. The Light Green is the head-turner; Dark Grey is the everyday professional choice.

IP68 rating means the watch is dust-tight and submersible in 1.5 metres of water — suitable for swimming, rain and sweat. Not rated for high-pressure water jets (that’s IP69) but more than sufficient for daily fitness use.

Our take: Exceptional build quality for the price. The precision metal body and rotating crown deliver a premium feel that competes with watches costing ₹3,000–₹5,000 more.

Display: 670 Nits AMOLED — How Good Is It?

The 1.43-inch AMOLED display delivers 466×466 resolution at 326 PPI, with 650 nits typical brightness and up to 670 nits peak, with a 10% increase in screen-to-body ratio compared to the previous generation.

In direct sunlight, the display remains readable — 670 nits is sufficient for outdoor use in most Indian conditions. AMOLED’s inherent advantage of true blacks and deep contrast makes watch faces and health data visually clear even at lower brightness settings indoors.

The Always-On Display mode is supported — showing time, date and key stats without a full screen wake. Battery life drops to approximately 4.5 days with AOD enabled versus 13 days with it off — a significant trade-off to factor into your usage pattern.

60Hz refresh rate is standard for smartwatches — you will not notice any smoothness issues for navigation and health data display. This is not a phone screen and 60Hz is perfectly appropriate here.

Watch faces are customisable through the Nothing X app with multiple styles available. The circular display suits analogue-style faces that give it a genuine watch appearance rather than a gadget appearance.

Our take: The best display in the under-₹8,000 smartwatch segment. 670 nits peak brightness is brighter than most rivals at this price. AMOLED colours and contrast make health data genuinely easy to read at a glance.

    GPS: Dual-Band L1+L5 — The Standout Spec

This is the specification that separates the CMF Watch 3 Pro from every competitor under ₹10,000 in India.

The dual-band five-system GPS supports both L1 and L5 bands, ensuring faster lock times and more accurate route tracking — particularly reliable in challenging GPS environments like narrow lanes, dense urban areas and forested terrain.

Why dual-band matters in India: Single-band GPS (found on most sub-₹10,000 smartwatches) struggles in conditions common to Indian cities — tall buildings causing signal reflection, dense neighbourhoods with narrow lanes, and uneven terrain. L1+L5 dual-band corrects for these errors by cross-referencing two signal frequencies simultaneously.

For runners, cyclists and trekkers, this translates to: route maps that match where you actually ran (not a smoothed approximation), more accurate distance measurements, and faster cold-start times when beginning a workout.

GPS lock time and route accuracy testing results will be included in our full long-term review. Initial outdoor testing shows lock times under 10 seconds — competitive with dedicated GPS watches costing ₹15,000+.

Our take: Dual-band GPS with faster lock times and more accurate route tracking compared to the Watch Pro 2 at under ₹8,000 is genuinely exceptional value. If GPS accuracy matters to you — no budget smartwatch in India offers a better solution at this price.

    Health Tracking

Health monitoring hardware includes a four-channel heart rate sensor, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, stress monitoring, and advanced sleep analysis. The four-channel heart rate sensor is a meaningful upgrade over the single or dual-channel sensors found on most budget smartwatches — more sampling points means more accurate continuous heart rate data during exercise.

Active Score: This feature uses metabolic equivalent data to summarise weekly physical exertion — giving you a single weekly fitness score rather than requiring you to analyse individual workout data manually. Useful for users who want actionable fitness guidance without becoming data analysts.

AI Running Coach: The AI running coach offers workout guidance and training insights, including estimated recovery times and endurance predictions for long-distance runs. In testing, the coach provided genuinely useful post-run recovery guidance based on heart rate and exertion data — not generic advice.

Sleep tracking covers sleep stages, duration and quality scoring. Data syncs automatically to the Nothing X app and is compatible with Apple Health, Google Health Connect and Strava — meaning your health data integrates with whatever ecosystem you already use.

Our take: Health tracking breadth is excellent for the price. Four-channel heart rate + SpO2 + stress + AI coaching is a combination typically found on ₹15,000+ smartwatches. Accuracy testing against a medical oximeter and chest strap heart rate monitor coming in the full review.

ChatGPT Integration — Does It Actually Work?

This is the most-talked-about feature of the CMF Watch 3 Pro and the one most buyers are curious about.

ChatGPT integration on Nothing OS allows users to ask questions, set reminders and control the watch using natural-language voice prompts. In practice: raise your wrist, activate the voice assistant, ask a question — the watch queries ChatGPT via your connected phone and reads back the response.

Real-world use cases that work well:

    • Quick factual questions while running (“What’s my pace to finish 10K in under an hour?”)
    • Setting reminders without reaching for your phone
    • Converting units, quick calculations
    • General queries when your phone is in your bag

What it cannot do: ChatGPT integration requires your phone to be nearby with an active internet connection. This is not an offline AI — the watch is the interface, the phone and internet are the engine. In areas with poor connectivity, the feature will not function.

Recording Transcription: A unique feature that allows the watch to transcribe audio recordings via the Nothing X app — useful for meetings, lectures and voice memos without pulling out your phone.

Our take: ChatGPT integration is genuinely functional for quick queries during workouts and daily tasks — not a gimmick. The phone dependency is a real limitation for offline use, but for connected daily use it delivers on its promise.

    Bluetooth Calling

Bluetooth calling is supported — you can answer and make calls directly from the watch using the built-in microphone and speaker. Call quality in our initial test is adequate for outdoor use — clear enough to take a quick call without reaching for your phone.

Speaker volume is sufficient for outdoor environments. Indoor call quality is good. In very noisy environments (traffic, crowded areas) the microphone struggles to isolate voice from background noise — a common limitation across all budget smartwatch calling implementations.

Notifications + Quick Reply: Notification alerts work reliably for WhatsApp, calls, messages and app notifications. The rotating crown adds tactile navigation for scrolling through notifications without touching the screen — genuinely useful while exercising.

Our take: Bluetooth calling works well for daily use. Not a replacement for your phone in important calls but excellent for quick responses and routine calls when your phone is out of reach.

    Gesture Controls

The CMF Watch 3 Pro supports wrist gesture shortcuts — raise to wake, wrist flick to scroll, and gesture-based controls for camera shutter and music playback.

Remote camera control allows you to trigger your phone’s camera shutter from the watch — useful for group photos and selfies. Works reliably within Bluetooth range in testing.

Music control — play, pause, skip tracks and adjust volume from the watch without touching your phone. Works across Spotify, YouTube Music and the default music app.

Gesture recognition accuracy was consistent in testing — the watch correctly identifies deliberate gestures without triggering accidentally during normal wrist movement.

Battery Life — 13 Days Claimed

Official ratings show up to 13 days of operation under typical usage conditions, approximately 4.5 days with Always-On Display active. A complete charge cycle requires 99 minutes.

Context on the 13-day claim: Typical use in manufacturer testing usually means limited GPS, limited notifications and AOD off. In real-world use with GPS-tracked workouts, frequent notifications and Bluetooth calling, expect 7–9 days — still exceptional for this price point.

The AOD trade-off: Always-On Display drops battery from 13 days to 4.5 days — a 65% reduction. If you use AOD daily, plan for approximately once-a-week charging. Without AOD, charging every 10–13 days is realistic for moderate users.

Charging speed: 0% to 100% in 90 minutes via proprietary pogo-pin charger. The pogo-pin charger is the one recurring criticism of CMF wearables — losing it means buying a replacement, and it is not universally compatible. Keep the charger safe.

Our take: Even at a conservative real-world estimate of 7–9 days with GPS workouts, the CMF Watch 3 Pro outlasts virtually every competitor under ₹10,000. The 99-minute full charge is slow by modern standards but acceptable given the infrequent charging cycles.

    Nothing X App

The Nothing X app is the companion application for the CMF Watch 3 Pro, available on both iOS and Android. It handles watch face customisation, health data visualisation, workout history, AI running coach insights and watch firmware updates.

The app is well-designed — clean interface, fast sync, and deep health data presentation. All data syncs to Apple Health, Google Health Connect and Strava automatically once connected.

CMF ecosystem advantage: If you use a Nothing Phone, the integration is tighter — with shared notification management, seamless device switching and unified AI features. For non-Nothing phone users, the app functions fully but without the ecosystem-level integration.

Pick CMF Watch 3 Pro if: GPS accuracy matters, you want ChatGPT, and the overall feature set at ₹6,999 is unmatched.

Pick Amazfit Active Max instead if: Budget allows ₹12,999 and you want more advanced health sensors, a larger display and a more established fitness tracking ecosystem.

Pick Redmi Watch 6 instead if: NFC tap-to-pay is essential — it’s the only sub-₹8,000 watch with NFC in this comparison.

Final Verdict: Should You Buy the CMF Watch 3 Pro?

Buy the CMF Watch 3 Pro if:

    • You want the best GPS accuracy under ₹10,000 — dual-band L1+L5 is unmatched at this price
    • You are a runner, cyclist or trekker who wants accurate route tracking
    • ChatGPT integration appeals for daily wrist-based queries
    • You want AMOLED + 13-day battery + Bluetooth calling at under ₹8,000
    • You are a student or professional wanting a smart, capable daily watch

    Skip it if:

    • NFC tap-to-pay is essential for your daily commute — the CMF Watch 3 Pro does not have it
    • You want interchangeable bezels — removed in this generation vs Watch 2 Pro
    • You need advanced ECG monitoring — not supported
    • You want offline ChatGPT — phone and internet connection required

Our recommendation: As of May 2026, the CMF Watch 3 Pro at ₹6,999 is the best smartwatch under ₹8,000 in India. The combination of dual-band GPS, AI running coach, 4-channel heart rate tracking, ChatGPT integration and 13-day battery life makes it one of the best budget smartwatches in India in 2026 — a statement we agree with after hands-on testing. The only buyer who should look elsewhere is one who specifically needs NFC payments.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the CMF Watch 3 Pro worth buying in 2026? Yes — at ₹6,999 during the launch offer, the CMF Watch 3 Pro is the best value smartwatch under ₹8,000 in India. Dual-band GPS, ChatGPT integration, 670-nit AMOLED and 13-day battery at this price is unmatched by any direct competitor. The only meaningful gap is NFC — if you need tap-to-pay, look at the Redmi Watch 6.

How long does the CMF Watch 3 Pro battery actually last? CMF claims up to 13 days under typical use. With Always-On Display enabled, battery drops to approximately 4.5 days. In real-world use with daily GPS-tracked workouts and frequent notifications, expect 7–9 days. A full charge takes 99 minutes via the pogo-pin charger.

Does the CMF Watch 3 Pro have NFC? No. The CMF Watch 3 Pro does not support NFC. If UPI tap-to-pay or transport card payments are important, consider the Redmi Watch 6 (₹4,999) which includes NFC, though it lacks dual-band GPS and ChatGPT.

Does the CMF Watch 3 Pro work with iPhone? Yes — the CMF Watch 3 Pro is compatible with both iOS and Android via the Nothing X app. However, ChatGPT integration and some advanced features work most seamlessly with Nothing OS phones. Core features including GPS, health tracking, calling and notifications work fully on all Android and iOS devices.

What is the difference between CMF Watch 3 Pro and CMF Watch 2 Pro? The Watch 3 Pro upgrades to dual-band L1+L5 GPS (vs single-band), a brighter display with 10% more screen-to-body ratio, ChatGPT integration, a 4-channel heart rate sensor (vs standard), AI running coach and Active Score. However, it removes the interchangeable display bezels that the Watch 2 Pro offered. Price has increased from approximately ₹4,999 to ₹7,999.

Is CMF Watch 3 Pro GPS accurate? The dual-band L1+L5 GPS system is the most accurate GPS available in a smartwatch under ₹10,000 in India. L5 band support corrects for signal errors common in dense urban environments. Expect faster lock times and more accurate route tracking than any single-band GPS smartwatch at this price.

Does CMF Watch 3 Pro support Strava? Yes — health and workout data syncs to Strava, Apple Health and Google Health Connect via the Nothing X companion app.

What is the CMF Watch 3 Pro price in India? ₹6,999 during the introductory launch offer (from May 7, 2026 on Flipkart). Regular price is ₹7,999. Available in Light Green, Dark Grey, Light Grey and Orange.
