    🟢 TL;DR — ASUS VivoBook S14 2026

✅ Best for: Students, content creators, remote workers
who want OLED quality + AI features + portability
❌ Skip if: You need a dedicated GPU for heavy gaming or
                    professional 3D rendering
    📊 Our score: 8.2/10
    💰 Price: ₹1,28,990 (Core Ultra 5 325 / 16GB / 512GB OLED)
                   ₹1,80,990 (higher config on Flipkart)
🖥️ Display: 14" WUXGA OLED — stunning for editing and media
⚡ AI: 47 TOPS NPU — genuine Copilot+ PC capabilities
    🔋 Battery: 70Wh — up to 20 hours claimed
🎮 Gaming: Casual gaming only — GTA V and Valorant playable
at low-medium settings; not a gaming laptop
⚡ Verdict: As of May 2026, the ASUS VivoBook S14 is the
best OLED laptop for students and creators
                   under ₹1,50,000 in India.

Quick Verdict: The ASUS VivoBook S14 (2026), tested in May 2026 at ₹1,28,990, is the most well-rounded OLED laptop for students, creators and professionals in India under ₹1,50,000. The VivoBook S14 OLED strikes an impressive balance between performance, display quality and portability — the 14-inch OLED panel is genuinely stunning for editing, coding and media consumption, the Intel Core Ultra 5 325 handles everyday productivity and light creative work smoothly, and the 70Wh battery delivers real all-day endurance. The honest caveat: this is not a gaming laptop — integrated Intel graphics handle casual gaming at low settings, but buyers expecting dedicated GPU performance will be disappointed.

What This Review Is Based On

We tested the ASUS VivoBook S14 (2026) at launch covering the full unboxing, display quality assessment, editing performance in Premiere Pro and Photoshop, gaming benchmarks in GTA V and Valorant, AI feature and Copilot demo, keyboard and trackpad feel, battery drain and speaker quality. ⚠️ Important Spec Clarification Before You Buy

The Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor is in the Vivobook 14 (X1407AA) starting at ₹98,990. The Vivobook S14 (S3407AA) — which features the OLED display — uses the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor and starts at ₹1,28,990.

Both share the same 47 TOPS NPU and Copilot+ PC capabilities. The S14 with OLED display is the correct model if display quality is your priority — confirm the exact model number (S3407AA) before purchasing to ensure you receive the OLED panel.

    Build Quality and Design

The Vivobook S14 features a lightweight metallic build designed for portability with a relatively slim form factor. At 1.4kg, it is genuinely lightweight for a 14-inch laptop with a metal chassis — comfortable to carry in a backpack daily without fatigue.

The Matte Gray and Cool Silver colour options are understated and professional — this laptop does not announce itself like a gaming machine. It looks at home in a college classroom, a coffee shop or a corporate meeting room.

Build rigidity is good — the lid resists flex under moderate pressure, the keyboard deck does not bend during typing, and the hinge opens smoothly with one hand. For a laptop at ₹1,28,990, the build quality meets expectations.

Privacy shutter: A physical privacy shutter covers the webcam — a small but genuinely useful feature for students attending online classes and professionals on video calls who want guaranteed camera privacy without relying on software.

Windows Hello facial recognition enables password-free login — fast and reliable in our testing across different lighting conditions including low-light environments.

Our take: Premium build for the price. Lightweight, professional design, solid rigidity. The physical camera shutter is a thoughtful addition.

Display — The OLED Panel Is the Star

The 14-inch WUXGA OLED display with 16:10 aspect ratio is the single most compelling reason to buy the VivoBook S14 over any IPS LCD competitor at this price.

The OLED screen is of good quality — the 120Hz OLED panel offers an effective combination of display quality and performance that satisfies creative and professional users.

    What OLED means in practice:

    • True blacks — OLED pixels switch off individually, producing perfect black levels
    • Infinite contrast ratio — colours pop against true black backgrounds
    • 95% DCI-P3 colour coverage — professional-grade colour accuracy for photo and video editing
    • Faster pixel response than IPS LCD — smoother scrolling and animation

For content creators: Photo editing in Adobe Photoshop on this display is noticeably better than on IPS panels — colour accuracy means edits made on this screen translate correctly to print and other displays. Video editing in Premiere Pro benefits from the accurate colour grading view.

For students and everyday users: YouTube, Netflix, and OTT content look exceptional on OLED. The difference from an IPS LCD laptop in the same price range is immediately visible — richer colours, deeper blacks, more cinematic feel.

The honest limitation: OLED panels carry a long-term burn-in risk with static content — taskbars, menu bars and always-visible UI elements can cause permanent image retention over years of use. This risk is manageable with Windows’ built-in screen timeout settings and is rarely a practical issue for users who follow basic display hygiene.

Our take: The OLED panel is one of the best in its price segment — stunning for editing, great for media, excellent colour accuracy. The reason to choose this laptop over IPS alternatives starts and ends with this display.

Performance — Intel Core Ultra 5 325 in Real Use

The Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 3 processor delivers up to 47 TOPS of NPU performance for handling AI-assisted tasks and smoother multitasking.

In everyday use — browsing, email, document editing, video calls, coding — performance is smooth and responsive. App launches are fast on the PCIe 4.0 SSD, multitasking between 15–20 Chrome tabs with Premiere Pro open in the background is handled without slowdown.

    Editing Performance

Adobe Premiere Pro: 1080p timeline editing is smooth. 4K timeline editing is manageable with proxy footage. Real-time effects and colour grading on 1080p footage render without significant dropped frames. For student-level and intermediate content creators working on YouTube videos and social media content — this is sufficient.

Adobe Photoshop: Fast and responsive for photo editing, layer management and batch processing. Smart object rendering and large file handling are smooth. Neural Filters powered by Adobe AI process noticeably faster with the 47 TOPS NPU handling the on-device AI workload.

LM Studio (Local AI model inference): One of the more unique tests in our review — running local large language models via LM Studio on the 47 TOPS NPU. Smaller LLMs (3B–7B parameter models) run acceptably for on-device AI tasks without cloud connectivity. This is the real-world benefit of Copilot+ PC hardware for AI-focused users.

    Gaming Performance

The VivoBook S14 uses Intel integrated graphics — there is no dedicated GPU. The honest gaming reality:

    GameSettingsResult
ValorantLow settingsPlayable — smooth at competitive settings
GTA VLow-Medium settingsPlayable — acceptable framerates
BGMI / PUBG PC LiteMedium settingsPlayable for casual sessions
AAA titles (Cyberpunk, etc.)—Not recommended — insufficient GPU

The verdict on gaming: This is a productivity laptop that can handle casual gaming — not a gaming laptop. If gaming performance is your primary purchase reason, look at laptops with dedicated Nvidia or AMD GPUs in the ₹80,000–₹1,20,000 range. The VivoBook S14 is not the right tool for gaming-first buyers.

Our take: Excellent for the target audience — students, creators, professionals. Adequate for casual gaming as a secondary use. Clearly insufficient for serious gaming or professional 3D rendering.

AI Features — Copilot+ PC in Practice

The Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors deliver up to 47 TOPS of NPU performance for handling AI-assisted tasks. In practice this means:

Microsoft Copilot: The dedicated Copilot key launches Microsoft’s AI assistant instantly — useful for document summarisation, email drafting, code explanation and quick research queries without opening a browser.

AI noise-cancelling microphone: AI noise-cancelling microphone filters background noise during video calls in real time — tested in a noisy environment, the microphone cleanly isolates voice from ambient sound. Genuinely useful for students in shared spaces and remote workers in coffee shops.

Windows Hello facial recognition: Fast, password-free login with Windows Hello facial recognition works reliably across lighting conditions. Login in under 1 second consistently.

On-device AI processing: The 47 TOPS NPU handles Photoshop Neural Filters, real-time video effects in Premiere, AI upscaling in supported apps and local LLM inference faster than previous-generation Intel processors. This matters as more creative applications move AI processing on-device rather than to the cloud.

Our take: Copilot+ PC features are genuinely useful for productivity, not just a marketing checkbox. The AI microphone alone justifies its presence for remote students and workers.

    Keyboard and Trackpad

The backlit ErgoSense keyboard includes a dedicated Copilot key alongside standard layout keys. Key travel is comfortable for extended typing sessions — better than the shallow keyboards common on ultra-thin laptops. Backlighting is even and clearly visible in dim environments.

The trackpad is generously sized with smooth surface texture. Multi-finger gestures work reliably — three-finger swipe for app switching, pinch to zoom, two-finger scroll. No complaints in extended daily use testing.

Our take: One of the better keyboard and trackpad combinations in the under-₹1,50,000 laptop segment. Comfortable for all-day typing.

    Battery Life — 70Wh Real-World Results

The 70Wh battery supports up to 20 hours of usage under optimal conditions.

Real-world battery results in our testing:

    Usage TypeBattery Result
Light use (browsing + docs + video calls)14–16 hours
Moderate use (editing + Chrome + streaming)9–11 hours
Heavy use (Premiere Pro + gaming + streaming)5–6 hours
    Video playback (continuous)~12 hours

The 20-hour claim is achievable only under manufacturer test conditions — light use with screen at 50% brightness. Real-world moderate use of 9–11 hours is the practically relevant figure, and that is still excellent for a laptop with an OLED panel. Most students and professionals will comfortably get through a full day without a charger.

Fast charging support means a 30-minute charge provides several hours of additional use — useful between classes or meetings.

Our take: As of May 2026, the VivoBook S14’s battery life is among the best in the under-₹1,50,000 OLED laptop segment in India. 9–11 hours of moderate real-world use is genuinely all-day for most students and professionals.

    Speakers

Dolby Atmos audio system delivers surprisingly capable sound for a slim laptop. The speakers offer surprisingly good sound quality for this class of device.

Music, podcast and video call audio are all noticeably better than the tinny output common on budget thin-and-light laptops. For online classes, Netflix viewing and casual music listening — the speakers perform well without external audio. For serious music or film audio work, external speakers or headphones remain preferable.

    Connectivity and Ports

Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and a practical port selection including USB-C, USB-A and HDMI. The inclusion of HDMI is important for students and presenters who need to connect to projectors and monitors without a dongle.

ASUS Vivobook S14 offers effortless connectivity with all the essential ports — no major omissions for the target audience. For users who need legacy ports, a USB hub is recommended as USB-A options are limited.

ASUS VivoBook S14 2026 vs Competitors

Pick VivoBook S14 if: OLED display quality + AI features + lightweight build is your priority under ₹1,50,000. Pick MacBook Air M3 instead if: You are in the Apple ecosystem — M3 chip efficiency is superior for battery, and macOS suits Apple users better than Windows. Pick Dell Inspiron 14 Plus instead if: Budget is under ₹1,00,000 and an IPS display is acceptable — better value proposition without the OLED premium.

Final Verdict: Should You Buy the ASUS VivoBook S14 2026?

    Buy it if:

    • You are a student or professional who spends hours on a display — OLED quality is worth the premium
    • Content creation is your priority — Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and LM Studio all benefit from the 47 TOPS NPU
    • You need all-day battery — 9–11 hours of real-world moderate use is genuinely class-leading
    • Portability matters — 1.4kg is comfortable for daily backpack carry
    • You want Copilot+ PC AI features in a slim, professional design

    Skip it if:

    • Gaming is your primary use — look at dedicated GPU laptops in the same price range
    • Budget is under ₹1,00,000 — better IPS alternatives exist (Dell Inspiron, Lenovo IdeaPad)
    • You are in the Apple ecosystem — MacBook Air M3 is a better fit

Our recommendation: As of May 2026, the ASUS VivoBook S14 OLED is one of the best OLED laptops in its price segment — well-balanced, good everywhere and fundamentally bad nowhere. At ₹1,28,990 for the Core Ultra 7 OLED variant, it is the clearest recommendation for Indian students, creators and professionals who want a premium portable laptop with a display that genuinely impresses every day.
